Tomorrow's Home
In this Coming of Age/Slice of Life graphic novel, 12 year old Robin finds his life turned upside down after losing his family to house fire, and has to find his place — and himself — in an unfamiliar foster home.
This is a story that has been in the works for years --- since high school. It explores the themes of identity and self expression for children in the setting of the foster care system, and how that effects the kids. In this world, the more a person covers up means how much they either don't know, don't want to acknowledge, or hiding something about themself. Kids tend to cover up the most because they are kids, no one knows who they are at that age, and adults tend to cover up less and more subtly. So, the more a person shows off their face and body, the more they are peeling back their shell.
The "Proper" Synopsis:
Robin arrives to Alice’s Foster Home after losing his family in an accident. Shaken, scared, alone, and with nothing but the clothes on his back, Robin finds himself in a world that once felt familiar, but now feels too big and terrifying. Will he be able to let himself grow attached again to what is now around him, or will he let his lingering wounds burn what is left?
